Hey companions now I am going to share my experience which I had in Dessert in south India – Their kaadu (Red Sand Desert in Tamil Nadu).

Theri Kaadu (Kudiraimoli theri)
Theri is a unique coastal landscape found mainly in southeastern Tamil Nadu, India. The terrain is shaped by marine deposits, with aeolianite and distinct red sand dunes scattered across the region. These striking red soils are believed to have originated during the Pleistocene epoch, adding an ancient charm to the landscape. The soils are rich in calcium, which has gradually replaced the old roots of vegetation that once thrived here. Notably, Kaadu, the dense forest area, lies just 12 kilometers from Tiruchendur in Tuticorin District, a place where nature’s resilience stands timeless.

It was the weekend, and I decided it was time for a little adventure. Normally, I’d visit landscapes or jungles, but this time, I wanted a change. I set my sights on a red soil desert, about 30 kilometers from home. Joining me on this spontaneous journey were Arun, Sathis, and Vinoth.
As we made our way, we passed through a place called Siruvaikuntam. What we saw there left us in awe — millions of Flying Foxes hanging from the trees, their massive wings fluttering as they moved about. It was an incredible sight, and we couldn’t resist snapping photos. We soon learned that these bats were migrating from Sri Lanka to Tamil Nadu, adding an even deeper layer of wonder to the moment. We spent over an hour there, captivated by the spectacle, before we continued on our way, the desert still calling us.

Before entering Teri, there is a temple called VanaThriupathi, this is the first occasion when I got an opportunity to visit there, we are stunned to see such a magnificent look and it was built by Shri.P.Rajagopal, author and M.D of Saravana Bhavan hotel in India. But our luck we complete our work ship with 30 mints in light of less group. Now the beginning phase of the dessert, only red sands all over and spot was excessively hot. I think alleviate time is 11.45 am, In our Back pack we had enough water, on the grounds that without we cannot survive more than hour there.
Theri Kaadu – Red Sand Desert of Tamil Nadu

The Kaadu is protected by the forest department, and within its boundaries, you’ll find several small temples scattered across the area. The air here is filled with the distinct, refreshing scent of sand mixed with the sweet fragrance of cashew nut fruits, creating a unique and invigorating experience. The landscape is beautifully dotted with palm and cashew nut trees, adding to the charm of the place. Curious about the cashew nut trees, I asked the locals whether they were wild or cultivated. They explained that these trees grow naturally, thriving in this delicate ecosystem, adding to the natural beauty of the region.
Red Desert of Tamil Nadu
With appropriate permission from the department we entered there, we insight only 500m from the road, we enter inside I cannot believe my eyes reminding me that am in treat such a calm astonishing inclination. Its noon time sun in over our head and sucking our energy and body was loaded with perspiring. We wander to a great extent to saw the scenery.

There we tasted the cashew nuts are natural, truly taste was so awful , on the grounds that it was completely natural and the juice from the fruit gives us reviving and prevent us from the getting dried out. We saw numerous Hares there yet can’t take picture of them. So 2 hours of spending there we intend to finish our voyage and return back by 3 pm.

My genuine belief is in the event, that you are planned to visit here better time was before 9 am and after 5 pm, because it’s a treat so hot here. Try to close all your face, hand to keep away from sun burn. Local people group said it’s a home for may shake winds, yet we didn’t discover anything in out manner however be mindful about it.
